WordCamp SLC 2014 is coming up fast. Just one month away: Saturday 13 September 2014. This is one day that brings together the local WordPress community like no other. We tend to get a wide range of people attending, from those just starting out, to designers, developers, consultants, and people who contribute to the core code of WordPress.
WordCamp SLC is a great opportunity to learn a few things from the presentations. Even more important than that is the chance to get to know other WordPress users in the community.
One really important thing to note for 2014, the location has changed:
City And County Building
451 Washington Square,
Salt Lake City, Utah
The registration this year is only $15, which includes lunch. The reduced price is to help offset the cost of parking in down town SLC.
If you are interested in speaking there is still time to submit a presentation proposal.
Go register today and be sure to say hi when I see you on September 13th. Then go give a big thank you to Mike Hansen, he is organizing WordCamp SLC 2014.
If you have been waiting until the last minute to register for WordCamp SLC 2013 because the schedule hadn’t been posted yet, now is your time :-)
The schedule for WordCamp SLC 2013 is now live on the site. You can still register, the whole day is only $20 and includes lunch.
Quick update on the upcoming WordCamp SLC 2012 on September 22nd:
Look forward to seeing everyone again on the 22nd up at the UoU campus.
WordCamp SLC is back for 2012! The date is September 22nd, and we’ll be back at the University of Utah campus (their wifi has worked every year!).
Now is also the time to put together your speaker submissions. We’ve got several people already lined up, but still have room for more.
Tickets will go on sale this week. There will be a discount for purchasing your ticket early, as that makes it easier to plan for things like lunch and t-shirts.
For all the details subscribe to http://2012.slc.wordcamp.org/ and follow @wcslc on Twitter.
Here are the slides from my “Site Performance, From Pinto to Ferrari” talk that I gave at WordCamp SLC 2011 and Wordcamp Albuquerque 2011.
I’ll be presenting at WordCamp SLC 2011 on September 10th. My session is titled ‘Site Performance, From Pinto to Ferrari’. I’ll be talking about techniques for measuring the performance of your site, making goals for what you’d like it to be and tips on how to speed things up. Some of these will apply more broadly to just about any site on the web, then we’ll go into more specific WordPress options for better performance.
The early bird tickets are still available, for only $15 (which includes lunch and t-shirt). After August 27th the ticket price goes up to $20. We are trying to encourage people to signup early because it makes getting accurate numbers for t-shirt and lunch orders easier. So go hit the WordCamp SLC 2011 registration page today and save yourself a few dollars.
I look forward to seeing everyone again up at the University of Utah on September 10th.
As of yesterday registration for WordCamp SLC 2011 is now open.
This year we trying something a bit different. If you register before August 27th you will get $5 off the regular ticket price.
So go register now, and mark your calendars for September 10th!
The WordCamp SLC 2011 call for speakers is out. Have something that you are passionate about regarding WordPress? This is a great opportunity to share!
In following with the trend to name WordCamp events in a more region specific fashion, WordCamp Utah is now WordCamp SLC. The date is set – September 10th – so mark your calendars now.
I’m looking forward to another exciting event, last year we were very fortunate to have a great location at the University of Utah. With wifi that worked the whole time and plenty of power outlets under the seats, it worked out really well. For 2011 we’ll be returning to the UoU, in the Skaggs Biology Building. Maps are available at http://2011.slc.wordcamp.org/location/.
Additional details will be posted at the official WordCamp SLC 2011 blog and WCSLC Twitter account. The hash tag for the event is #wcslc
We’ll be putting out a call for speakers soon, and tickets should go one sale in the next week or so. Mark September 10th on your calendars and come spend the day with other local WordPress fans, users, designers, and developers!
