OBJECTIVE

  I am interested in finding positions that will make use of the knowledge
  and experience that I have gathered in Internet technologies.  Beyond that
  I also want to be challenged with new and bigger tasks.  Of particular
  interest are large database systems.


SUMMARY

  I am able to quickly adapt to the needs and technologies of an organization.
  In addition to formal education I also keep up with many new and growing
  technologies (blogs, RSS, ATOM, AJAX, JSON etc).  I have a strong 
  determination and a keen eye for trouble shooting problems.

  In the past I've used C and Java, but I haven't looked at either seriously

	Extended the XML-RPC implementation in WordPress and wordpress.com.

    Implemented all of wp.* XML-RPC functions, along with enhancements
    and bug fixes to existing functions.

    Responsible for keeping network services running smoothly:

      * E-mail (Sendmail, UW IMAP, with SMTP AUTH, TLS/SSL, SpamAssassin
        and MailMan)

    Installation, configuration and maintenance of network systems and devices
    (firewalls, switches, access points, UPSs), reporting (SNMP, MRTG) and 
    servers (FreeBSD, Windows NT 4.x / 2000 / 2003, Mac OS X Server).

    Troubleshooting and support for more than 40 desktop and notebook 
    systems using Windows 95/98/NT/XP and Mac OS X.

    Translated dozens of Oracle PL/SQL stored procedures to PL/pgSQL on
    PostgreSQL.  Wrote a custom script (PHP) to export Oracle data and
    import into PostgreSQL.

    Part of the four man team that migrated an old internally built 
    customer database (Oracle) and application to Continuity 2000 (SQL Server).

    Co-wrote and support our internal grading system that collects data 
    from an NCS Pearson Opscan, archives scanned sheets in XML and records
    grades in SQL Server (previously in Oracle).  Written in Perl.

    Integrated UPS and FedEx shipping software with our current customer
    database (SQL Server), allowing for immediate import and export of data.

    Support for a Subversion repository that is currently 11 GB and
    expected to more than double by May 2007.

    Serve as a technical resource on internal and external issues.

    Various internal programming tasks, most now written in PHP.

    Responsible for more that 1100 users, using Windows 3.x, 95, 98, NT 
    and Macintosh operating systems across analog, ISDN, and T1 connections.

    Administration of remote access equipment ( Livingston PM2Es, PM3s, 
    Office Routers, and IRX Router ), and servers ( FreeBSD, SunOS, and NT 4 ).

    Administration of DNS, using Bind 4. Internet email using Sendmail and 
    Qpopper.  Web services using Cern, Apache ( including mod_perl and PHP ), 
    and IIS ( with ASPs using both VBScript and PerlScript).  RADIUS 
    authentication for Livingston equipment.  Firewall services 
    ( including NAT and proxy systems ).  

    Programing in Perl, ranging from database integration and cgi scripting, 
    to automation of system administration procedures.  These systems varied 
    from Windows NT4 with MS SQL Server 6.5 to FreeBSD with MySQL.

    Network support of DEC Pathworks, v.4.1, 5.0, 5.1, and 6.0 on VMS.
    Creating accounts on VMS, Pathworks, Promis and Unix systems.
